Connecto-TempChat ("the App", "we", "our") is an anonymous, ephemeral peer-to-peer communication application. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information — or more precisely, how it deliberately does not collect, store, or share it.

We do not collect any personal information. The App does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.
Messages, files, voice communications, and whiteboard data exist only in your device's memory for the duration of the session. When a room closes, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted. We have no access to this data at any point.

Voice calls and file transfers in private rooms are transmitted directly between your device and the other participants' devices using WebRTC technology. This data does not pass through our servers. Our server acts only as a signalling relay to establish the initial connection — it never sees the content of your communications.
Text messages in private rooms are end-to-end encrypted using AES-256-GCM before leaving your device. The encryption key is derived from the room password using PBKDF2 (100,000 iterations) and is never sent to our server. Only participants who know the room password can decrypt the messages.

Public rooms are not end-to-end encrypted and are open to anyone who joins. You should never share sensitive, private, or personally identifiable information in a public room. The App clearly discloses this distinction to users before they enter a public room.

Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used solely to enable live voice communication with other users in the same room. Audio is streamed directly to other participants via WebRTC and is never recorded or stored on any server.
Storage (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 9 and below only): Used only when you explicitly choose to save a received file to your device's storage. On Android 10 and above, we use the MediaStore API which requires no storage permission.
We do not request access to your contacts, location, camera, calendar, or any other device data.

Our signalling server logs only the minimum information necessary for the service to function: the time a connection was established and the socket ID assigned to the connection. We do not log IP addresses, message content, file contents, usernames, or room codes. Server logs are retained for no more than 7 days for technical troubleshooting and are then permanently deleted.

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics services, advertising SDKs, social login providers, or tracking tools. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any equivalent service. We do not show advertisements.
WebRTC connections may use publicly available STUN servers (operated by Google) to establish peer-to-peer connections. These servers are only used to discover your device's network address and do not receive any message content.

The App is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor is using this App, please contact us at the email address below so we can take appropriate action.

The App must not be used for any illegal activity, including but not limited to sharing illegal content, harassment, fraud, or any activity prohibited by the laws of your jurisdiction. Users are solely responsible for their own actions and the content they share. We reserve the right to implement technical measures to prevent abuse, including rate limiting and temporary access restrictions.
ऐप का उपयोग किसी भी गैरकानूनी गतिविधि के लिए नहीं किया जाना चाहिए। उपयोगकर्ता अपने कार्यों और साझा की गई सामग्री के लिए पूर्ण रूप से स्वयं जिम्मेदार हैं।
We implement the following security measures: end-to-end encryption for private room messages (AES-256-GCM), screenshot and screen recording prevention (Android FLAG_SECURE), rate limiting on room creation to prevent abuse, and PBKDF2 key derivation with 100,000 iterations for password-based encryption. Despite these measures, no communication system can guarantee absolute security. Use the App accordingly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
